26 years ago, you did something that many would turn and run away from. 7 years later, you did it again. Through uncertainty, judgement, and fear, you became a mother, something that I am forever grateful for.
You’ve stood by me through tough times, accepted me for who I am, and raised me to know what is right. You’ve laughed with (at) me, cried with (for) me, and loved me unconditionally. Sometimes we butt heads, but there isn’t a combination of prayers that could manifest a better mother than you.
It is never lost on me how much you do. You’ve sacrificed so much for my sister and I, and I don’t know a stronger woman in the world. To be a mother is to be a coach, a mediator, a cheerleader, and a fighter. You are all of that and then some.
Everything I am is a reflection of you. I look in the mirror and see a beautiful girl, strong, full of life, and happy. To see this is to see strength, to see courage, to see you. I am proud of the person I am today, and I can’t thank you enough.
Happy Mother’s day to you, mom. I love you to the moon and back!
